Hi, I’m Paul Sparks, PhD.
I’m a behavioral Social scientist, Game Master, and Storyteller.
This website is a work in progress, but some day it will include links to my published research, my blog and creative writing projects, and resources for Game Master’s and players of Table Top Role Playing Games (TTRPGs).
Currently you can access the sign-up sheet for the Weekly D&D One-Shot adventures I host at Hood River Hobbies. If that is what you’re looking for, please click here.
Otherwise, feel free to reach out about research consulting services via the “Contact” link.
The what? The website.
Weekly One-Shots
I write and run weekly D&D One-Shot adventures. If you’re interested in joining a game or having me GM a custom campaign, sign up here.
We play in person on Sundays at Hood River Hobbies at 3pm.
I make all of my weekly one-shot adventures available for free use under the creative commons (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0), which means you can use it for non-commercial purposes and you have to share anything adapted from my original work on the same terms.
Free Adventures
I conduct research in the fields of narrative persuasion, entertainment-education, social and behavior change communication, public health, and economic development.
Research Interests
Consulting
I provide research and project evaluation consulting services, including participatory research and human centered design, surveys and focus groups, web + email + social media analytics, user experience research, and much more. These days most of my work is in the United States, but I have extensive experience in international settings, including Uganda, Kenya, Zambia, Nepal, Cambodia, Ecuador, and Jordan. I lived in East Africa (Uganda primarily) from 2011-2017, so I have especially deep connections there.
Location
I live in Hood River Oregon, but also have a presence in Washington, DC and Kampala, Uganda.
